Hilton, Marilyn. Full Cicada Moon. Dial Books - Penguin Group, 2015. This lyrical novel-in-verse follows the journey of Mimi Yoshiko Oliver, a bi-racial, Japanese and African American teenager who dreams of being an astronaut and struggles to both fit in to a small town, Vermont, white community and at the same time, to stand up for her own capacities and hopes. Beautifully written, the novel navigates the slow process of a community in a time of change and of young people taking stands to end sexist and racist practices in their school. 2016 Honor Book for older readers.
