The Yellow Star: The Legend of King Christian X of Denmark

The bravery of the Danes and their King, Christian X, during WWII has inspired many legends, the most enduring of which is the legend of the yellow star. Blending fact with fiction, Deedy recreates the story of the Nazi occupation of Denmark and the order that all Jews must wear yellow stars on their clothing. In response, King Christian united his people by urging that all Danes wear the star - which became the symbol of Danish resistance. Honor Book Younger Children, 2001.
