The first motion poster of Gul Makai, a biopic on Nobel peace prize winner Malala Yousafzai, the courageous Pakistani activist who defied Taliban, was unveiled Tuesday.
The poster depicts a young girl holding open a book while an explosion takes place on the book.

AUTHOR DISCUSSES LONELINESS AT CHILDREN’S LITERATURE CONFERENCE

“We spend our lives, I think, trying to alleviate that loneliness,” the 81-year-old told a packed Shenandoah University auditorium on Friday. “We do it so often through literature.”
This kind of empathy — understanding the loneliness of other people and relating to it — is critical to understanding her work, Lowry said. Of the nearly 50 books she has written, almost all of them “start with someone who is broken.”
